I was invited to my cousin's 50th birthday @ the retreat at this location for the first time. I was totally impressed! I loved the fact that it was kind of off the grid but still not too far away. You were able to enjoy nature but have access to some very accommodating amenities. There was a huge outdoor fire place, ping pong and overall both adult and kid friendly. The cabin that we had access to was clean, spacious and stylish. It was like an upgraded log cabin. I would definitely recommend this place for someone looking for a unique group or couples getaway!

From the moment we checked in we were very pleased with the cabin itself. The layout is well done. As we looked around, we noticed there were no TVs in the place. When we went to make dinner on the BBQ and sat out there, we could not help but notice how quiet and peaceful our surroundings were. We then ate and spent hours out there. The sounds of nature were loud and clear. When we went into the cabin and prepared for bed, it occurred to us that this cabin is all about peace and quiet and getting away from all the Hussle and Bussle of the city. It didn't take long to understand why there were no TV's. We were able to sit and sip on wine and have a great conversation about taking this trip. We became very relaxed with not a care in the world. It has been a long time since we were able to do that. The host was absolutely wonderful to deal with. She made our stay just that much better. The wind picked up the moment we arrived as if to signal the entrance into another world. And what a world it was! And if I could sum up this experience entirely, it would be exactly that: It is such a nice place that you never want to leave, so you just have to take something of it back with you. My partner Justin and I are suckers for nature and for getaways in general. We both work hard and when we need time to recharge, we head away to some fantastic destination and get all of that stressful energy out. This trip was particularly special because of how cozy and home-like Dragonhead is. It is truly a way to get away, but still feel at home. Jeff and Kathy are master hosts and their retreat is so beautiful and warm. One day, while we were out eating and shopping in Edom, we returned to find a hammock had been hung while we were away. One night, we hiked up the hill to the fire pit and lit ourselves a fire and had s'mores. A s'mores kit is provided and ready for you on the table when you check in. The entire experience was flawlessly executed.
